Yes it's the same but remember the T2 has an R3 so the little assign box in C above will have the option of R3 also. In practice you would rarely need to use anything other than R1 for a voice although if you are adding a multipad then the correct MP should be selected.
Just as an add-on - you have more control and less chance of a mistake if you add the multipad after instead of trying to do everything as you record the song. You can switch it on and off at will during the song - something you may find difficult when quick recording as it will no doubt coincide with you needing to change voice or variation.
