Hello fellow keyboarders,
Some time ago a friend asked if I had the music to a particular tune, I said no but I play it by ear. I played it and recorded it on the USB recorder on my PSR s900 then opened the file on my computer using "MidiNotate" and there was the music score. I'm not sure how I did it but since then I have been unable to repeat the process. Does anyone know how it is done?
Cheers Noel

Hi Folks
This is a further experiment using the Motif XS. Recorded track by track this is an attempt at a classical sounding piece, no style involved. Recorded 6 sections of patterns involving 9 tracks, chained the patterns then copied them to song mode - this made the backing tracks. Added 3 melody voice tracks. Adjusted the mix and recorded the lot into the Fostex.
For those interested the tracks are
1. Symphonic Pizzicato
2. Choir Pad
3. Pan Sphere
4. Concert Grand
5. Octave strings
6. Timpani & cymbal
7. Piccolo
8. Symphonic pizzicato
9. 3 VCO's
10. Phase strings
11. Irish pipe legato
12. Angel Eyes choir
Comments and suggestions welcome - I don't read music though!

I have successfully put 8 registrations into my memory Bank, and am able to access any one of them at the touch of a button. So far , so good! I am very pleased with both myself, and my brand new PSR 750.
But.I would now like to put another 8 different registrations into the next memory bank, but when I try to do so, my new 8 registrations always slip into the first memory bank I created. Even worse, they kick out the ones I had in there, and take up residence in there. Talk about unwelcome tenants!
I have read and re read the hand book.Obviously I am doing something wrong.
I am assuming that the PSR 750 will hold 32 memories , That is 4 banks, each containing 8 registrations= 32 memories in total.
Hoping someone will come to my aid, and save my sanity, my eyes which have been poring over manual and my morale. My spirits rise and fall with my successes and failures with computers and yamaha PSR Keyboards, but I wouldn't have it any other way. They provide a wonderful daily work out for the brain.

Hello all,
First of all compliments to you all, this forum realy helps me as a new keyboard player (Tyros T4) !!

Perhaps, you can help me out with this too:

I'm looking for "Spanish Flamenco" sounds that can be played through the multipads of the Tyros4.

Sounds such as: handclap (fast) - the clapping of the castanets and/or even the sounds of the stamping of the feet & male singers singing "ai, ai, ai, ai".

Does anyone of you know if and which Premium Pack (one of) these sounds offers ?

Or ... can someone explain how I could make this myself or ...
is there anyone who is willing to share (one of) these sounds with me ??

Thanks in advance, I'm looking forward to your replies.

First post! Glad to find this forum. Years ago I used a PSR-540 and there was always something special about it. Or rather, I always got incredible results using it. I used it for unconventional purposes. I'd run it through fx and mangle the sounds to where it sounded nothing like what first came out of the keyboard. I always figured that I could do that with anything, and I can, but there was always something about that PSR-540 that I like. Was it Yamaha's selection of sounds? I'm not sure really. I got an expensive Roland Workstation later on with a tremendous amount of functionality and features but I just found myself wanting my old PSR-540 back and some FX boxes. I never should have gotten rid of it. I've tried to figure out what it was that made it so usable and I think it's because the sounds weren't too "showy"--if that makes sense--, so the sounds lent themselves to being processed with FX boxes more easily. Anyway, does anyone recommend something from the current PSR lineup that would be most like the older ones like the pSR-540? Unfortunately I am very far from any music stores so I rely on the internet for assistance. I appreciate any input! Thank you!

I have been using and giging in a classy resturant and using 2 Behringer KX1200's speaker Systems. I also use a Behringer DJX700 Mixer that I feed from the Tyros 4 and Tyros 1 with the output to the KX1200's. I also use a headphone to hear what I am playing in order to keep volume levels at a minimum from the speakers. I have read many favorable comments about the Bose L1 systems. I finally decided to order the Bose L1 1S with B2 Bass. I hope I will not be disappointed because it was NOT cheap. Anyone on this forum using a Bose system with a Yamaha Tyros? If so, please share your impressions of the features and sound qualities.
