Introduction -
13-06-2009, 05:36 PM
I ran across this forum from The Piano World, I think. I do the majority of my recording using a Roland RD-500, Roland SC88 Sound Canvas, Layla Card and Sonar 7 and Band-In-A-Box. I have various other keyboards and modules and all sorts of little goodies collected over the last 45+ years. I don't play professionally any longer except on rare occassions. Retired and loving it.
What we (my wife and I, she is a great vocalist) are doing is playing for nursing/retirement homes for free. It is our gift to others for having had such a blessed and happy life all from God above.
I am currently considering the Yamaha Tyros 3. I'm trying to keep from taking so much gear to a job, having to sequence everything, worry about file compatibility, etc. etc. The Tyros 3 seems to be a one stop shop. Played it and had it demonstrated yesterday and it is quite a keyboard. I've never been much for auto accompanment keyboards but the end results are quite amazing. I'd love any information from others who are using the Tyros 2 or 3 and get their reactions and comments.

Hi
Welcome to the forum and thanks for introducing yourself - What is your first name?
Impressive list of gear and you obviously know how to use it and it would be great to hear some of your music. As for T3/T2 well they're great keyboards, I have a T2 - is there anything in particular you'd like to know about it? Pam has a T3 and I'm sure she'd advise you on that one. Just fire away with your queries.
Cheers
Spike

Hi Spike and thanks for the response. My first name is Don. I will try to put some of my stuff out there and let you take a listen. I am very impressed with the T3 and I've listened to some of Pam's songs and they are very good. Maybe I'll shoot her a message and let her give me her take on the T3. Quite a costly keyboard but still very impressive. Thanks again for the reply.

Welcome Don, Glad you found this place. That was me who gave you the link over at Piano World.
I know the folks here will be willing and able to answer your questions about the T3.

Well, thanks Joe. I've enjoyed reading the different posts here so far. The T3 is definitely an impressive keyboard and also has quite an impressive price also. Time will tell. I don't make any money playing music any more since all our performances are done for free. It does make a slight difference when a piece of equipment doesn't pay for itself as all mine have in years gone by. Keep in touch.
