Question Quiz ... Name The Group 1 - 06-06-2008, 12:17 AM

Hi Guys

And now for something completely different ...

A little quiz and a bit of a trip down memory lane and a test to see if I can upload pics to the new forum.

A few pics of some chart topping groups from the sixties, how many can you remember. A few easy ones to start with. Will dig out some trickier ones if these ones are too simple.

Remember the groups, remember the main men, remember their biggest hits?
Easy peasy.

Sorry to those youngsters who weren't around back then.

Will,

If this is a test, I failed. I only recognize for sure 1 group. 2 if the last is Dave Clark 5. Dang I'm getting old.

This is fun, so thought I'd have a stab at it.

1. Manfred Mann - Manfred Mann - 54321

2. Kinks - Ray Davies - You really got me

3. Herman's Hermits - Peter Noone - There's a kind of hush

3. The Animals - Eric Burdon - House of the rising sun.

I could be miles out with the 'hits', so will need help.

Paul

I wasn't sure about the Kinks' hit, 'You really got me'. Was this their biggest? I'm sure the Manfred's had other hits, but again can't remember if 54321 was their biggest.

Someone will enlighten us!

Cheers

Paul

Well, ... I thought I'd do better, but not so! I got Herman's Hermits and The Animals easily, but was in the dark as to Manfred Mann, and was confused about the Kink's because one of the bandmembers looks like Roger Daltrey of "The Who".

Oh well, ... better luck to me the next time! LOL!

Hi Will

I recognised Manfred Mann. The lead singer was Paul Jones, and who can forget the romantic line, " There she was just a-walking down the street, singing Doo Wah Diddy Diddy Dum diddy Doo". Boy they dont write lyrics like that anymore!!
I also recognised Herman's Hermits( Peter Noone), and remember them for "I'm into something good".
I know the other groups numbers but didn't recognise them in the photos.
Great idea Will. Thanks for the memories!

Kind redgards
Andy

I had no trouble recognising them - my problem was adding the names! That era for various (common) reasons was quite vague.
Good idea Will!
