Default Poor health slowing me up so...... - 25-11-2010, 07:31 AM

I find it easier to use a PC keyboard than messing about with buttons on the T3. My problem really is with the amount of activity I have to go through to organise my registration memories. I have a
"Musiclands" TRX system with second lower KB ( a great setup) and this causes me a lot of bodily activity in all the reaching and button pressing.
I really want to do everything on the PC and I've transfered various files and folders from the HDD to my PC but I cannot work out if it's possible and that's where I need help. I'm 80 now and been doing the circuits for years but having retired, I want my home playing to be as easy as it can be.
I have a gig book laid out page by page starting with Trad then Watlz, BB slo, BB qs, Combo etc . right through to theatre organs, Showtimes, Classical and liturgical. Some 40 odd pages in all full of titles.
I have started to load the Reg Mems something like this and it works but with a lot of keyboard activity;

1. Pull down a Trad Jazz QS from the finder.
2. Set the temp. Say 200.
3. Transfer it to the first four mem positions.
4. Press - and + and save it all leaving the remaining 4 positions empty for later moddings.
5. To keep things in order to suit my head memory and my gig book, I name the whole thing thus;

001.Trad QS 200

This keeps all entries into numerical and understandable order !

PLEASE....How can I do this on a computer and copy it all back to the T3 ?

I've put the same problem onto YPKO hoping that someone has the answer !

Hey there, Mr. D

I just read yr post about yr T3 and yr PC. I see yr post is a few months old, so maybe you already got answers to yr questions.

Like you, I prefer to edit styles and other stuff on my PC - and there are a few helpful progams around to do just that.

Hey - 80 years old and fiddling around with Pcs & T3s?
Man, that's amazing and real grand - good on you, Mr D!

If you still need some ideas, then don't hesitate to give me a shout and I'll see what I can come up with.

You take care - ya hear?!

The Scooter

Thank you Scoot, I'm a bit older now and Arthritis has crept in all over, right hand runs are a bit troublesome but I can still knock some great songs out. I reckon I could still hold a crowd for half an hour ?

Look after yourself now and best wishes to you and yours

Derek Miles.

Hi Again, Mr. D!

And good to hear that you're still knocking those songs out, even just for shorter periods.

Arthritis, huh? Man, that ain't good to hear, but you can still do a few right hand runs (which I sure can't!), so you're doing pretty good fr yourself! And I'm right glad to hear that, too!

Don't forget to keep yr hands active - helps keep away the arthritis.

Remember I started getting (what felt like) arthritis a few years back. Didn't hang around for too long and moved to a warmer area and now ain't got any problems - which naturally I'm very pleased about.

Hope you still come to the Forum now and then, Mr. D, just to keep up with things and to see what's going on.
And if you need any help, then just ask - folks here try to help, if they can.

Don't be a stranger here - OK?!

Nice talking to you, Mr. D - and good health to you, sir, too!

What a great guy!

Cheers

The Scooter

Regarding arthritus.

There is a great salve you can apply on hands to lessen the arthritus effect. It is Spring Wind Herbs, Inc. Soft Plaster #1. They are in Berkley, CA 800 588 4883. It must however be prescribed from a licensed accupuncturist, they do no deal with public directly. They might be able to locate an accupunturist in your area.

It is a thick salve you apply directly to affected areas. You need to wrap in in qauze and leave on for 8 - 12 hours, Do this daily for several days, and you will noticed a marked improvements.

At one point, I had to take tylanol for the pain. Now I can go quite a number of months with out using the salve. I only use it as needed, when I feel the arthritus creeping back.

Different foods also affect arthritus, Do an internet search and start cutting some foods out , (particularly cold foods like ice cream).
