Yamaha PSR S710 Registration Memory

Hi,
a few days ago I bought a Yamaha PSR S710, and see that the registration memory banks operate the same way as my previous S550

The user manual is quite brief in their explanations, then ask someone who knows about it if I can help with this.

What is the correct way to use the bank records in the S710.

This sentence confuses me the manual says quite "The registered settings for eight Registration Memory buttons should be saved as a single bank (file)."

However, I see that you can save different records in each bank for later use and independently.
I guess there also may register one or more variants to be used during the execution of a musical theme, as a fast access to the changes required to be done.

I want to learn about this interesting option of the S710, which I also can name each bank or something, but do not understand how to give proper use.

thanks
Bachi (Argentina)

Hi Bachi
It may be easier if you think of each bank as a 'folder' and each registration as a 'file' in that folder.
You can name each bank (folder) as a song, you can then have 8 different registrations for that song.
When you play that song just scroll through the registration banks, find the song and play - you can then change registration in any order you like whilst playing. You can also change variations whilst playing a particular registration.
Hope this helps
Spike

Re: Yamaha PSR S710 Registration Memory

Thank you very much friend Spike.
So as I understand you've explained it, now if I understand it, I could prepare some banks with multiple records for some songs and it works great

I've also realized that all these different banks should be saved in electronic pen drive type, then retrieve them from there to timing.

This detail of the saved files in pen drive is not explained clearly and specifically in the manual, I had to deduce after reading the technical specifications page of the keyboard.

I believe that this should be clearly detailed below in the page text that speaks of the Registration Memory Bank.

For this detail I spent five days trying to understand their proper operation, if it had been adequately explained in a few minutes settled the issue.

I apologize if this text have mistakes because I do it through the translator.
Thank you again and I send a cordial greeting and great.

Hello.

Hope you are happy with the s710. I had an s700, and made some nice musical peices on it. I also learned how to edit the music on it, too, which the s550 did not have. Have Fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Pat, I'm really happy with my new keyboard S710. With a little patience I understand how it works, and that gives me pleasant moments.
It has a beautiful sound that I enjoy good external speakers, and I'm eager to learn every day more and more.
greetings dear distant friend

Re: Yamaha PSR S710 Registration Memory

Your welcome, bachi.

By the way, there is something I forgot to mention.
You can download a referance manual for the PSR-S710/PSR-S910 that gives instruction in different ways and it might be able to cover what you need to know.
There is also the manual for the PSR-S700/PSR-S900. This explains things in better detail, sometimes. I have downloaded those manuals (and had them printed out) and use them for referance when I have trouble understanding a subject. Hope this helps.....

Bye............................................... ...Pat
