I hate to introduce myself on a sour note, but there are some online scams appearing via small ads and email by sellers purporting to offer cut price Tyros keyboards. They will often ask for payment by Western Union or Moneygram. I was offered a new Tyros 4 for £980.00 but they wanted payment in Euros by Western Union. Please be careful,"if it seems too good to be true" then it probably is.

Thanks Mike, and welcome to the forum.
Back in around 2008 I was looking to buy my T2 and stumbled across a site with prices too good to be true. Keyboards, digital cameras etc. After a bit of digging I soon realised it was a scam, even though the site looked very professional.
I then searched for the fraud squad details online, filled in their online form and thought that would be that.
However, the same day I had an email back saying they would investigate the site immediately and shortly had another email from them to say the site had now been removed!
I hadn't realised they have a team dedicated to preventing this type of fraud, so was pleasantly surprised.
Good luck with your T4 hunting and I hope you find an honest bargain.
Cheers
Paul

Hi Mike
A big welcome from me too.
We had one of these scammers (same guy) join the other day and I quickly sussed him out and deleted him.
You shouldn't find scammers on this site as Paul and I catch them as soon as they join.
Cheers
Spike

Hey, Mike.
I, too, have been scammed. It was on ebay. I was trying to get into the Yamaha end of the keyboard business, and found a PSR S500 on ebay for a good price. I bought it and soon found out it was a scam. Fortunatly, I was able to get the money back and the guy was kicked off ebay. I will not trust anyone with little or no feedback...........
Hope your sour note turns more "in key".............Pat

Hi everyone,
At last I've ordered my T4 from a reputable dealer online and delivery is tomorrow (1st Feb).
Needless to say I'm pretty excited and can now find out all the qualities of the T4.
While I'm probably a bit behind with this, I expect most of you are looking to see what the new Tyros 5 will reveal, unless Yamaha change the name.
So from tomorrow it's practice, practice, practice. My wife is totally bemused by all this, but there you go.
Of course I hope to be able to pick up tips and ideas as I go along.
Regards
Mike

Mike
Congratulations - it is a very nice machine. By now (only saw your post today) you would have had some time with it. What do you think?

Hello all, I'm new so hope I've got this right!
Like Mike, I have been watching prices for Tyros4 and was very interested in several recent ads from Scotland, Midlands and Bristol areas offering the T4 for around £1800. One ad even showed it in a new tyros box but it was a completely different keyboard inside. The ads were all the same wording but with apparently differing sellers. I then noticed the contact email was in South Africa. The ads are always on free advertising sites and never show the name of the seller.
I was able to send an email about the 'too good to be true' item to the advertiser site who seem to have withdrawn the ads.
If only I could get a Tyros 4 for £1800 I would be so happy. My PSRS910 is wonderful and is almost as good as a Tyros with the many additional styles I have been able to collect but I would love to experience the new
voice engine the T4 has and the better quality articulations.
Thank you for the welcome.

Tyros 4 for 1800 sounds too good to be true, especially if the email address is South Africa. Be careful. If the sellers do not have a web site I would be very suspicious.
Good luck.
