Dear all,

May I ask this question?

With an arranger keyboard like Tyros, you can have a good arrangement of your song. This is a clear fact, so I donít need to elaborate.

However, on the market they are selling many loops packages made by companies like Big Fish Audio, etc.

I have never used these loops, so I was wondering if there is a way to combine the two worlds. I mean, after you have an arrangement by Tyros either as a Midi or a Wav file, can you improve it by adding loops? I donít yet imagine how to do it and would appreciate your experience.

Thank you.

Hi
These loops are probably midi loops or audio loops.
You can add them to either a midi song or an audio song with sequencing software like Cubase or Sonar.
You would import the song into Cubase and also import the loop on a different track. You can copy/paste the loop anywhere in the song, as many times as you want. When everything is right you can then export the new version.

Hi Spike,

Thank you for your kind reply. I also have the similar thought about using the loops this way. It is just a thought as I have never tried it.

May I ask one thing about the audio loop (Wav file)? Can you change the key and chords of these loops in the DAW to match the key and chords of your Yamaha song?

Thank you.

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think so. The loop will tell you what key it's in and it may be available in different keys.
Changing key may change the tempo in a .wav file.
Cheers

If you do get some loops working I'd love to hear what you come up with.

By the way, Spike posted a link to Adobe Audition (vs. 2 I think) which Adobe are giving away free. I haven't tried it yet but my Son has and he reckons it's a good bit of software. You'll be able to load loops (midi or audio) and VSTs also so definitely worth checking out if you don't already have a computer-based sequencer such as Cubase.

My Son tells me Adobe have also made available a massive library of loops and effects as a separate download. I'm guessing these will load into any sequencer so I'll be taking a look at this also.

Here's Spike's link: Free software

Let us know how you get on as I'm sure this will be of interest to many here.

Cheers

Paul
