Yep, agreed. The more the merrier. We're all interested primarily in making music - with whatever keyboard. Welcome!

Thanks Paul...The poll is working fine now....I would just like to add that I've found there was a lot of good thought and hard work gone into the design and functionality of this web site and I must say, you and the moderators are doing a bang up job.
Thumbs up to you all.

Haha, I think I know who ya are, you ole Keeser, you! So be careful what
you say or YOU may find yourself a character in my next Epic! LOL

Actually I like this forum a lot just the way it is -- but I admit I don't
post here often. This is largely because it's so DARN hard to get into
the place! I dunno if it's my PC or the software here, but it takes me
3-4 minutes to get in, and then another 2 minutes to get the "post"
business operating.

I had the same problem at Simon's (which is not working at all these
days), but to a lesser extent. Also, I'm pretty busy with the new
software I'm creating, so I really can't spend as much time here as I'd
like to.

Now let's see if this even posts successfully... LOL.

Dave

Hi Paul,

I too would like to congratulate you on a fabulous site and, like many others, tender my apology for not being active.

This is not through choice....just the fact that other parts of life seem to take precedence for a while and keyboarding will come back as a bigger part of my day hopefully shortly.

The Music Workshop idea is fabulous and I will be asking for help in time....when I make time.

Meantime, soldier on and be proud of what you have created.

cheers,
Peter

Hi Guys, (and before I forget, a big welcome to Gail B )

Thanks for all your great comments. They've been really encouraging, and just the boost I needed to keep this forum going.

I'm hoping most, if not all of you will continue to stick around, and get some interesting threads started. We've got members here from across the globe, so it would be great to hear about all your musical experiences.

If anyone has any new ideas for features, then please let us know. For instance, I notice a couple have expressed an interest in music theory. I'd be quite happy to start a theory thread, or better still, if you have a question on theory that's bugging you, ask away! Hopefully either myself, or Willie Joe will be able to offer some help.

Thanks again to all of you, (and Spike, the spammers' worst enemy!), and if you don't stick around just remember, I've found the 'email all members' button!

Cheers

Paul

Sorry you're having a problem guys, I wonder if others are having similar issues? I occasionally find the site a little slow, but in general it seems to run ok, bearing in mind it's a forum which will always be slower than a static website.

I certainly don't have any problems logging in and getting to the homepage. I'm wondering Dave, seeing as you had problems with site speed at SVP also, if it's maybe some sort of firewall problem, although I'm far from being an expert.

We're using the industry-standard forum software that runs on literally thousands of sites, and using a hosting company recommended by the software creators, Jelsoft. The software could easily support thousands of members, we have a couple of hundred so the only thing I can think of, and I'd need to get advice, is that one of the 'hacks', (the added funcionality that was programmed in), is maybe causing a slowdown for some.

If anyone else suffers from a slow experience, please let me know and I will look into it.

Cheers

Paul

It's a little slower than other forums I frequent like Soundclick and Piano world, but not a lot. I would estimate that it takes about 8 sec. to open. I never log out and I bookmarked the forum index instead of the home page. I don't know if that makes a difference or not. I'm still logged in each time I open the forum, but sometimes I have to do a 'refresh' to see the latest posts. I figured the slowness was due to the servers at the hosting company.

Hi paul............Hi Gang !!!

Hey guys, sorry Ive been away for a few weeks, but unfortunately, the Jaguar / Land Rover dealership I managed went into voluntary closure due to the current economy and lack of business.

Pleased to report I did walk into another job ( thank goodness ) back in My old dealership, which now saves me a 160 mile round trip that I made every day.

As you can see, I'm now up and running with a computer once again, and am looking forward to making up for lost ground !!

Regards to everyone.

Gordon.

PS. My old e-mail address went for a ball of chalk along with the business, so appologies if I havn't replied to anyone .
