How About Selling Your Cover Songs?

Admin - dont worry, I'm not suggesting that people should stop uploading them here

I have a website which is designed to sell music for children to dance to in competitions (commonly called Dance Festivals)

I have been producing music for my wife's Dance School for many years and I had hoped to sell my music. Unfortunatly, there were license and copyright issues which I couldn't overcome at the time which meant that I could only sell original compositions.

This has been resolved now, and I am able to sell cover versions too.

I am hoping to build a team of people who would allow me to sell their music on my site - you will obviously be paid for your work.

My proposal is this -

you send me your music as an MP3 and I will upload it to my website. Every time one of your tracks sell I will pay 1.00. I intend to make payments at the end of the month,

There will be a password protected page where you can see all of my sales so that you can be sure that I am not conning you - orders are numerically sequencial and I cant alter that - so if an order number is missing I have some explaining to do.

The best music for my target customers in show and film music, but many other styles will sell just as well. Due to the competition rules the music only needs to be around 2 mins for a solo (example, Tap Solo) or upto 5 mins for a group number (more than 5 performers).

I have already found out that some of you have posted music which would be suitable, but I would not do anything like download them and sell them without your permssion, and correct compensation to you.

It is quite conceivable that if you submit a large quantity of high quality music you can be making a reasonable income - I'm not pretending that you will be earning a great deal of money, it's a niche market after all.

If you have any questions or if you would like to get involved why not get in touch, I'd love to hear from you.

Just thought I'd update this thread - some members of The Lone Arrangers Forum are sending me tracks and they are listed on my site.

If you'd like to hear demos of their contributions go to my site (link in signature) and click on New Products.

Special thanks to Torben - Star Contributor so far.

Anyone else want to get involved ? - you are more than welcome.

The post above is now incorrect as some elements have been reviewed. If you want to get involved please send a blank email to musicians@dancefestivalmusic.co.uk and you will recieve an autoresponse with instructions and detailed information.
Email or PM me if the autoresponder doesn't work
