Default Mic Recording. - 27-11-2009, 04:43 PM

Hi All.
First let me say what a great site this is. You guy's are so helpfull!

Now the question:
Can anyone tell me which track to record a microphone connected to the Tyros?
I need to add it after recording the song.
Regards,
Ray.

Hi Ray
You can't record a human voice to a midi track. Does the T1 have audio recording? (I can't remember) if it does then you convert your song to audio with the Hard Disc Recorder then overdub your voice with the mic.
Cheers
Spike

Hi Spike.

Don't think the T1 has audio recording.
If you can't record a human voice, why do they give you a mic input with vocoder?
Regards,
Ray.

Hi Ray probably because it's an audio input so you can sing while playing the keyboard - it goes through the keyboard amp and speakers. My T2 has a Hard Disc recorder which would allow me to record my voice over the top of a song.
I'll check the Tyros 1 manual to see if it has a HD recorder.
Cheers
Spike

HiRay
Just had a look at the T1 manual, no you don't have the facility to record a mic input over an audio recording of a midi. The mic input is as i suspected so you can use the VH to sing through the keyboard. The Hard Disc is an optional extra to increase storage capacity.
You''l have to record over audio in your DAW although I reckon you could go through the Tyros and use the VH effects routing the output to an audio track in your DAW.
Cheers
Spike

Hi Spike.

So if I was to purchase the Hard Drive, do you think that I will be able to record onto it as audio?

Regards,
Ray.

Hi Spike.

DRAT!!(for want of a better word!)
Guess I'll just have to get the Tyros up to the studio sooner than I thought, and put the Voice direct through my mixer.
Regards,
Ray.
