Default Hello Girl - 04-02-2010, 04:06 PM

Hi

This one is from Dr. MariGolds - and I am having some trouble here. I just can't seem to find a style to fit. I have a lot more work to do on this. I'd like to hear your comments.

I had to put all parts together using software.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Johan

Hi Johan
I don't know the song so I'm not really in a position to offer any ideas but there seems to be a bit of a clashing of voices here, I couldn't determine which was melody and which was backing and without being able to look at the midi file then I can't see which tracks are doing what. It sounds a monotonous song but maybe the original isn't. I can only suggest you either pick voices which are tones apart or at least pan those that you've used, at the moment they are fighting each other. Again without knowing the original I'm not sure what to suggest regarding a style other than see the workshop article on making your own.
Not very helpful I'm afraid, mainly because I've never heard the original.
Cheers
Spike

Spike

This is a tough song to find, the only chance is if you happen to get a 45 or 33.3333 LP somewhere. Dr. Marigolds was a band from the UK. I heard this song when I was a kid - kept it on tape and years later found a very bad copy of it which I used as guidance.

The timing is off, the voices are definately clashing. Overall I just cannot seem to get the backing tracks down. Anyway, this is a work in progress, I will post an update if I think I nailed it.

Thanks

Johan
