Hi Darren
Sorry, not keen on this at all. Bagpipes intro needs the drones too, some of the melody notes were wrong and so were some of the chords.
Living up in the Highlands makes me very picky and biased about this and to me the tune belongs to a pipeband or lone piper not a brass band.
Full marks for effort though
Cheers the noo
Spike

Hi Darren
This is the best I can do for the moment
http://www.perthhighland.com/phpbtun...0Cathedral.pdf
I don't read music so I don't know what key it's in but bagpipes are normally A or Ab. Can you work out the chords from that?
Try Googling it for the chords
Cheers
Spike

Hi Darren
I don't know if these will help.
I used HC as a basis for an experiment called March to Trance, it diverges slightly from the priginal tune and the chorus is completely different but I believe the main verse chords are correct.
https://www.box.com/s/0c73da8653bdca5bf8f2
I also uploaded a midi which may indicate which chords I used - it's attached
These might be of use - I don't know
Cheers
Spike

Hi Darren, I liked it, I liked the way it built up towards the end, and the change of key was a nice touch... Pam

i first heard this highland cathedral on 9th aug at the local organ society
i downloaded the lead sheet from wikifonia
but i would like to put the drum sounds on a multipad
i have asked about this on a couple of forums as i don't know how this is done
but it seems both darren and spike have done this
i liked both of their recordings
i do think that highland cathedral is suited to a lone piper to start with but i did like the brass section the drums were very good.
spikes drums were great also
i would like to be able to make a multipad of these drums if someone would be kind enough to tell me what i need to create the multipad
i own a tyros 1

many thanks
arthur

Hi Arthur
The drums on my version were not on a multipad. I used two styles both made by myself. One is the march drumming and the other a trance rhythm.
The march was put onto ch9 and the trance on to ch10. One was faded out as the other was faded in.
So assuming you still want to put drums on a multipad then there is a tutorial on making multipads in the workshop section. There is also some free software which enables you to make a multipad out of a midi or a style here

Cheers
