Hi Barry,

There's something wrong with the link to your song.

Hi Barry,

Great performance again!!!!!!
I assume you are playing the first part like a true pianist without any split or do you use a style with the drums and bass muted ?
Nice contrast between the piano-part and the overdrive-guitar.
Well done.

Hi Ludo
Many thanks for your great reply and telling me about the link in the first place.
There is a style which runs all the way through but on top of that on the left hand I am also playing piano. You have to be careful of course because of the possibility of changing chords with your left hand as well. But it seems to come naturally for me and gives me an extra dimension for live performance. So yes both hands are going all the time like a pianist but having to also take care of different things. One day I wll have to do a video.
If you are interested I did my first no style and no automatics recording a few days ago. It is multi tracked but entirely from scratch. It is a re-run of one I released on here a couple of weeks or so ago. Many Thanks Again for your great comments again Ludo.

Hi Barry
Another brilliant rendition of one of my favourites not to mention the 'bonus' multi-track
it would be nice if you could find time to tell us mere mortals how you put together your M-T eg whichtrack you put down first etc.
Thanks for a couple of great listens.
Cheers
Spike

Watcha Spike
Many thanks for your great comments and encouragement. It is very much appreciated.
Love the comments mere mortals. You know more about these things than I ever will.
My method ( If I indeed have one ) is firstly make a live recording using both hands to get as much detail in on the first run as possible. i.e. Left hand overdubbing the chords and making the thing as full as I possibly can. For me this gives me the feel.
You miss some elements along the way ( because my left had is so busy it doesn't have time to do anything else ) such as the ability to use the wheels for pitch bend and mod etc but if you use a very light touch you can get most of that articulation by hand anyhow. If not and you need it, then the feel has already been established and you can just layer a new solo track in place if you want to. Most of the time I don't. From that point I can just listen and say what does it need now and just add extra layers until I get fed up with it. Nothing gets released here. It all escapes because I have got fed up with it.
I have now added 2 dimensions for live playing or as you can see above my first tracks if I am to continue with it. On is a Behringer Foot Controller so that makes up for my left hand being too busy and the recent purchase of an old M-Audio 61 note midi keyboard. It is literally stuffed under the Tyros. That enables me to thumb down and potentially play 2 keyboards at once or allow for quick sound changes without having to press buttons.
Are you still paying attention because there will be a quiz at the end! Lol
That's about it Spike. If there is a method to it at all it is getting the thing down as a live performance in your mind firstly. It sorts out all of the fills etc and most importantly it develops the feel. At least for me it does.
Essentially I was a performer in the first place. I really only do multi tracking because that seems to be what everybody seems to want to judge you by nowadays. Left to my own devices I would just prefer to play live but there you go.
Probably a bit garbled but hopefully you can pick through it. Then only other thing that might be worth mentioning is that the entire recording procedure and all of the voicing comes from the T3. I do not use a daw or anything external. I seem to be still finding enough things on it for me to play with.
Hope that helps Spike. You might enjoy this one I did yesterday as well
It's an old Supremes number that I have sort of done in a Live Rock Style. Just a sit and play again. ( Chicken Supremes that is, on a head banging kick )
You Keep Me Hanging On
Hope you enjoy it Spike
Best Regards
Barry
