Default Maggie May - 22-07-2008, 04:10 PM

Hi Gang.

This is one I posted a while back on the old place.

Used a super style from Bogdan, with a few tweaks here and there.
Had lots of fun with the multi-tracks, especially the Mandolin,Purple Organ, and a couple of the bass licks.

This song really brings back memories of the old days before "Rap" & "Hip Hop" came on the scene .

Went to see Rod in Atlanta last year, he was brilliant !!

Kind Regards
Gordon

Isn't multitracking fabulous Gordon?
It sounds here like you had a lot of fun with it.
Now, you are amazed how I can play spanish guitar eh.? . . . well, I am amazing how you play those guitars too, . . . with that incomparable fervour you always apply to it , and super well played.
Man, you put all your soul on every single song you play.
This one is another magnificent performance and it deserves a big hand also .

BRAVO Gordon, . . . .BRAVO ! ! ! !

Regards.
Julio.-

Hi Gordon
I was never a big fan of RS, I understand one of his concerts was cancelled when his voice suddenly got better , however I'm a big fan of your music mate and this is an excellent version, great bass lines and well up to your usual meticulous standard of multi-tracking
Cheers
Spike

Hello Gordon
Excellent, very close to the original, recording. I must try this multi-tracking in earnest - I've added a track or two before but never tried it like this. Great result!
All the best
Ewan

Hi Gordon,

I liked everything about it. It's a really great accomplished remake of a great old popular standard, and done spot on. Of course, as I've said before, I've come to automatically expect that from you.

You are a man after my own heart, paying attention to detail, and placing all the "little" things where they should be. You should be proud, ... very proud.

The one thing I'll mention, ... (and this is not a fault, ... nor a criticism, but a preference), is I would have the opening lead line standing out front a little more. Just in the intro. Like I said though, ... that's only my own preference. Either way, all I can say is excellent, and keep 'em coming!

Hi Gordon

I enjoyed your performance of this very much indeed.
I sincerely look forward to you uploading good music for a long time...either using your own styles, Bogdan's, Yamaha's or whatever. Playing good music is more than just playing the correct keys, and your attention to fine detail in your recordings is something I greatly admire.
Well played my friend!!

Kind regards
Andy

Well said Andy. I totally agree, and with that in mind I can confirm our troublemaker has been dealt with.

Hi Gordon,

Remember this one well from the old place and great to hear it again. Never been a fan of Rod's, although I like some of his songs, including this one.

Keep 'em coming mate, your great music will always have a place here.

Cheers

Paul

Hi Gang.

I guess I must have missed something by the references to the "Trouble maker" being sorted out ?? . Reading between the lines, I can only think it was something to do with the style I used ?
The reason I didn't post it was out of respect for Bogdan, but it is readily available on his web page .

Anyhow,......thanks a bunch to friends :-
