Default Ebb Tide - 03-08-2008, 09:34 AM

Hi Friends, Anyone remember Jerry Colona singing this one, my version is a little more gentle, using a beguine style here's my version of Ebb Tide, I only have my husband to try out my music, and he didn't like the multipad I used,so toned it down for the MP3, but left it on on the midi, hope you like it...Pam

Hi Pam.
Can't recall to hear this tune, but that isn't irrelevant because now I got your version and it sounds very very well here.
A perfect and very good organ sound followed by a good brass section to end with a fantastic strings.
Just one little critic, . . .well, after all isn't a critic indeed, but don't you think the style sounds more like a Bossa or Samba than a Beguine?
Regards.
Julio.-

Hi Pam,

It's been a while since I tried to play this great song. Liked your upbeat version and you played it very well. Both versions sound good to me.

Hello Pam
I liked it - I didn't think I would but it sort of grows on you and it was a nice change to the usual style with which this is played.
All the best
Ewan

Hi Pam.

I remember the Jerry version with his sustained weeeeeeeeeeeeeeen the tidaaaaaa ha ha . Did he wear a funny hat or something ??

Anyhow,...............niggle first, ...this is actually a beautiful melody, with some great chord progressions, so I do prefer a slower moodier style .

Now, having said that, you brought lots of energy to the table with your version, and in the end ,it worked very well. The melody line seemed to drift away a bit faint in a couple of places ?, but overall, this was a well put together, and well played performance.

Kind Regards
Gordon

Hi Pam
Nice lively version, didn't like the organ voice (but I rarely do), a sax would have been great. You gave an old standard the kiss of life, so well done .
Cheers
Spike
