Octoberfest Medley -
20-09-2008, 08:03 AM
Hi,
The Oktoberfest starts in Munich,Germany on September 20th and ends on October 5th. Thought I'd submit an "Octoberfest Medley" of songs I remember listening to in the Beer Tents when I was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany many years ago.
BTW, the songs sound a lot better with a Beer Stein in your hands...and if you sway side-to-side while it's playing. LOL
Viele gruesse, und Ein Prosit!!!

Hi Del
Excellent stuff, brought back many memories from when I used to go to the festival when stationed in the NW of Germany in the early 60s, Swaying to Eins-Swei-Sofar(?) and the large steins of beer, drinking at those long tables where everyone was your friend for the evening. Oh yes back to the songs, nice medly and all the right voices, very Bavarian feel to it. Well played!
Thanks for the trip back in time
Cheers
Spike

Hello Del
Never been to the festival but it sounds a great event if the music is anything to go by. I'll put it on my "to do" list, in the meantime thanks for the musical brochure, you played it well, got the old feet tapping
All the best

Wow Del!
You had me going here too! I've been there also when I was a young man stationed in Germany. Just as your medley did with Spike, it did the same to me. It took me down a memory lane for sure!
I enjoyed the entire song, and you played it very well!

I know this kind of music is one of your fortes.
A very good rendition played as usual by you, with the characteristic sound of the music in that kind of festivals.
A very nice Medley, Del.
Good effort my friend.

Hi Del.
Not My cup of tea I'm afraid,.......hopefully the crowd has a few steins before the band strikes up
No judge of this type of music, but it seemed well played and entertaining nevertheless .
Kind Regards
Gordon

Hi Spike, Joe, Ewan, Romeo, Andy, Krazy, Julio, and Gordon,
Anyone who has attended an Octoberfest either in Germany or where you live will like this kind of music very much. The songs are very traditional and well known by almost everyone. I'll try to attend the Octoberfest here on October 4th. It's not nearly as large as in Stuttgart, but is still big compared to over events here.
I encourage everyone to try and experience an Octoberfest and the music. If the music isn't to your liking, perhaps you will love the Bratwursts. LOL
Thanks for giving this medley a listen.
Del
