Default I'm Telling You Now - 21-09-2008, 10:52 PM

Hi Friends

Hot off the press !! Here's I'm Telling You Now by 'Freddie And The Dreamers'

I was listening to the radio at work a few weeks ago and this song came on and sounded great so when i got home i started working on it.
I discovered that it wasn't as simple as i first thought as it has mostly 2 chord changes in every bar , something i had never tackled before and also 2 key changes
I extracted some of the style from a midi file using 'Jorgens midi2style' and also used parts from onboard style's.

I played it including the middle 8 with a quick record and then multitracked the harmony's .

Hope you all enjoy

Thumbs up Re: I'm Telling You Now - 22-09-2008, 10:06 PM

Good one Andy

Was just a boy in short trousers when this one came out but remember it well. You've managed to capture those early sixties sounds perfectly with the authentic guitar lead. Great work with the style and pleased that you tackled the middle 8 too.
A fun piece and very enjoyable.

Hey, be careful with the dancing mate, don't want to have to call the paramedics again!!

Regards

Will

Hi Andy.

Brilliant style, and a very authentic sounding version of Freddies big hit.

I used to see them quite often in the 60's, round the various working mens clubs in Manchester,...........he was always fooling around and joking

As Will said,....good stab at the solo, and all in all, a very enjoyable bit of nostalgia !!.

Good job Andy

Kind Regards
Gordon

Hi Andy
Must agree with Will and Gordon, a great piece of work. I wonder who was working that puppet in the video, I wondered where Leo Sayer got his ideas from.
Hate to say it but I remember it coming out.
Well done mate
Cheers

Ya know what Andy? This is great stuff! You've done a wonderful job putting this one together. I was never really a big "Freddie" fan, but always kinda liked "I'm Telling You Now". Now I like it even more thanx to you.

The second key change went a little smoother than the first during the transition, but I hear nothing but good coming out of this one.

Fine job mate! I'd give you some thumbs up but my browser won't let me use smilies again, (as it did once before). After I repair it I'll return with smilies and edit some in! LOL!

Hi Andy.
I beg you pardon me for the delay commenting on your last post. I am working 24/7 out of the house and have not much time lately.
But, just took a little time this morning listening your song and let me tell you my friend that it sounds great to me.
A very pure and clear guitar accompained by a nice style plus all the arrangements you made.
Can't remember well this tune, but I don't care because now I got the original played by you , and I believe I prefer your version instead the one on You Tube.
Thanks for this clever rendition and my best to you and Family.
Julio.-
