March to Trance -
17-09-2008, 12:40 PM
Hi Folks
Another oldie for you. This is an experiment in changing one style to another, it starts as a march using a style I made from scratch and loosely based on Highland Cathedral ends up as a trance style.
Both styles are running in parallel, the march on ch 9 and the trance on ch 10 but the volume of ch 10 is zero to start with so you only hear the march, as the song progresses I fade out the march and fade in the trance. This is then reversed for the last verse. The fading was done the easy way with Cubasis.
Some of you may have heard it before so don't feel obliged to comment again.
Here's the mp3 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download #March to Trance.mp3
Hope you like it
Cheers

Hello Spike
I'm really impressed with this arrangement, the thought of doing this would never have entered my head - a seamless transition of styles and your explaination of the method is welcome, I learn something else! I know Highland Cathedral as I have it on a cd of pipeband music I got last Xmas, your chorus wasn't the same as the record but so what the overall tune was great and the experiment a success
All the best
Ewan

Hi Krazy
Yes I think you got that philosophy about right, I had been trying to figure out how to do it for a couple of days and then like the sun coming up it dawned on me . The fading can also be done live I reckon using the Mixing Console but you'd need someone pressing the buttons for you unless you are a musical octopus
I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway and thanks for listening
Cheers

Oops! Sorry Ewan I missed a reply to your post. The only bit of HC I knew well enough was the verse so I made up the chorus . Thanks for your nice comments anyway - much appreciated
Cheers

Hi Spike.
Well, heres the thing,.......individualy, I liked both parts, and they would both be worthy of a full version in their own right,............but then the gamble,..did it work ??..............in My oppinion, a resounding YES
Lots going on behind the scene , and your editing skills have paid dividends My friend.
Not many here could take an idea to fruition with such great results !!!
Kind Regards
Gordon
