Hi Spike

Listened to this a few times now and just love all the various sounds you've used. As David says, definitely worth some further development. I really like the oriental influences and the fact you have lots of interesting stuff going on.

I can see why you've added a Korg to your setup.

How does the Korg's seq. compare to the T2, for ease of use? You've certainly got to grips with it, if this tune is anything to go by.

Nice one Spike

Cheers

Paul

Hi Paul
It's probably easier to sequence songs on the Tyros, it depends on what you are putting into the song. It may be just a beginners problem but I find the M3 harder to multi-track than the Motif, it's the difference between the 2 operating systems. With both these keyboards you can make patterns (easier on the Motif) and chain them together to make a song. You can make these patterns by either playing them yourself or recording one of the many performances (Motif) or combis (M3). The addition of further tracks is so easy.
The selection of voices is a lot easier on the Motif as you can organise your voices into a 'favourites' section - can't do that on the M3 so you have to know what you're looking for which means either making a note of the location or trudging through the voice sections.
The mixing function is better on the Motif and is based on the Mixing Console of the arrangers
One thing I do NOT like about the M3 is the touch screen, I hope Yamaha never go down this route - give me a knob anytime (oops ) or a slider.
I hope to be able to produce a comparison thread in due course.
In the meantime thanks for your comments they're very useful.
Cheers
Spike

Hey Spike ...I see you are coming to grips with the M3.....It's a lot of fun isn't it.....I haven't gotten into the sequencer as yet. I've opted to multitrack with computer based sequence software. Cool Edit Pro and Power Tracks Pro.
I like what I've heard from you and the M3. The Karma function gives a lot of inspiration. The sounds on the M3 are really nice.
It's great to have our Toys.....Keep it going Spike.
All the best.
George

Hi George
Great to hear from you - trust you are well!
Yes this M3 is a great machine and I'm only scratching the surface. I've not been able to connect it to the PC yet but very shortly I intend to have a go with the Cubase AI4 that came with my Motif. Maybe we could hear some of the music you are churning out with your M3 ably assisted by your Magic Shoe Horn.
Thanks for taking the time to listen buddy.
Kind regards
Spike

That's some serious music there, Spike . . . it really pains me to say this,
but you are showing some real talent these days. It's rare that I feel a
tune's only flaw is that it didn't last long enough.

Now please excuse me while I go take a bicarbonate.
