Default Spaced...an M3 experiment - 08-04-2009, 01:17 PM

Hi all
This is a try out of my new Korg M3. Multi-tracked from scratch in Sequ. mode, even the drums were recorded beat by beat and voice by voice. The ending is cr*p but I've uploaded it to get some feedback. There's only one lead voice and I intend to put voice changes in by editing the midi which I've yet to extract from the keyboard.
Here's the Mp3 for you to criticise

Hi Spike,Some very nice voices in that Korg, very 'spaced out', It reminded me of the background music to one of those arcade games, such as Mario...Pam

Hi Spike glad to see your getting to grips with the M3 some really nice sounds there, lovely tinkley crystal clear textures, and a understated rhythm tracking pushing the whole thing along nicely, puts me in mind of stuff of the Jan Hammer wavestation stuff, well worth developing imho.

Thanks David, I'm only scratching the surface of this great keyboard at the moment, I've a host of tutorials from the M3 website to go through which will hopefully enable me to get the most out of this machine. I'm impressed with what it can do so far. In saying that the Motif is an easier keyboard to operate. I'll hopefully be able to write a comparison thread.
I guess the Hammer influence is there - I like that sort of stuff and some of the drum kits on the M3 are awesome, probably one of their better features, the voices imo aren't as good as Yamaha.
Thanks for commenting
Cheers
Spike
