Dixie Tonk -
05-06-2008, 01:17 AM
For those of you who have, or intend to upload a song (midi), or a style then please keep an eye on developments in your user profile. You'll notice a tab with 'My Uploads' and, if you've already uploaded a midi, or style, then you'll see this listed. The only way to get your song listed in your user profile, is to make sure you attach a midi to your post.
With the above in mind, I'm rolling out an old one of mine.
Some of you may remember this tune from SVP. Dave had asked for some dixie, and Tyros Lee had just uploaded that great honky-tonk piano voice, which I was itching to have a go with, and so came up with Dixie Tonk.
I've attached a midi, which was recorded on the Tyros 2, and from what I remember, shouldn't give you many probs., apart from that piano voice I mentioned.
Here's the mp3: SoundClick artist: nozzmoking - Keyboard Instrumentals
and for you speed nuts, the . wav if you want it, (27Mb!): http://www.box.net/shared/static/perlrvsow4.WAV
* Please don't feel obliged to comment if you've already done so elsewhere *
This is the only way to get your old stuff into your online collection, so keep uploading!
Cheers
Paul

Hey Paul!
Nice lively tune! I was getting into it! Nice upload AND that is one dynamite piano, isn't it? Excellent playing too!
Can I get that piano, and will it work in T1? Please let me know.
Thank you.
PS
I was going to ask what the difference
was between lo-fi and hi-fi. Then I thought,
"Don't bother him, he has enough to do. I'll
just try them both!" Well, I did and I now
know the difference. The answer to that
question is, .... A WORLD!!!

Hi Krazy,
Thanks for taking a listen.
Re: the piano voice. I'm not sure if it will work on a T1 or not. I'll need to ask one of the others here. All I remember was that Tyros Lee had layered 2 pianos to create the voice. I don't think there's a 'mega-voice' involved, so I'd be surprised if it doesn't work. I'll have a look when I get home this evening to see if I still have it on the PC, as I can't get at my T2 at the moment. It's a shame Walter's not here, as he knows this stuff inside out, however Spike will probably know the answer.
Re: Lo-Fi, and Hi-Fi on Soundclick. LOL yes, what a difference! The Lo-Fi should have a health warning!
Hi Pam,
Thank you again for having a listen and commenting. I don't really like dragging up old tunes, but it's the only way to get it into the User Profile area.
Thanks to you both.
Paul

Good arrangement Paul, Sounds very authentic. Second the great piano sound, Sounds something like a Yamaha sampled grand through my PC speakers.
To expand on the lo-fi play option: It is provided for users who want to play the song over a dial-up 56k modem connection, which is not fast enough to stream the hi-fi.

Hi Paul
No harm in giving it a second airing it's great music.
The piano sound you are talking about (I think) was that slightly detuned honky tonk. Funnily enough I have just played it with another style on the T2 and it should play ok on the T1. I can upload it if anyone would like it.
Cheers

Hi Paul
Remember it, but Wow! it was great to hear it again. I loved the trombone( shades of "Trummy" Young from Satchmo's All Stars), clarinet and the pianna. I had fun playing along.
First class stuff.
Kind regards
Andy
