Playing along with Styles

When ever I download a new style from the internet I always use the A B C D buttons on the left hand side of my PSR 750. I'm wondering if I should be using the 1 2 3 4 OTS buttons on the right hand side of my PSR 750 instead.
Tyrosaurus clearly explained the difference in a post about 3 years ago, but I cannot find his post on this forum, and I have lost the piece of paper I printed it out on. Hoping one of our members can help me.

the way i understand it if you use the ABCD buttons without ots switched on the rhythm will change and the voices will stay as they are ,with the ots on both the rythm and voicing will change. If you use the ots buttons only the voices will change and the rythm will stay constant .hope this helps,
jacko
