Howdy Tom!

And thanx fr hooking up the song(s) again!

Sure liked yr "2nd Time Around" a whole lot - great lyrics and ya sung it very well. Reckon there was maybe a touch too much backing during yr singing now and then, like it confused the clarity of the melody line, so ta speak, but - hey - that's just me! This type of song don't run with the "fashion songs" that typically appear every year or two - and I reckon if I heard this one in, say, 10 years time, then it would still be fresh and appealing.

A real pleasure fr my ears, Tom, so thanx!

"Everybody but you" - always a pleasure to hear a good ballad - and this one is a very good ballad indeedie! Sounds very professional and y'oughta be proud that ya have the ability to get yr song out with such a great sound!
Neat, very neat!

My ears reckoned this was a real nice piece of music!

Didn't use an arranger? Interesting - howd'ya get the backing instrumentals in place, if ya don't mind me asking?

Thanx once again for posting the 2 songs, much appreciated!

The Scooter

Thanks for the kind words and critique..

I did these songs track by track using the Cakewalk Sonar PC Software before I knew what an "Arranger keyboard" was.

This is my studio at home. The second tune is a few years newer than the first.

I use the Tyros now for ideas and the MotifXS for creation. When I redo an old song like Second Time Around there are no Styles that can be used so I have to do it the old fashion way.

This is a song wrote and recorded years ago for a reunion at a lake I grew up at. I could not go but they played my song there where I mentioned memorable events and names. Needless to say not commercila but served it's purpose http://www.box.net/shared/8odyvakji8

Y're welcome, Buddy!

However ya did the backings - ya did a great job!

Whooeee! I just love yr studio! Man, that setup looks real fantastic!
Ya got just about everything ya need, there - 'cept maybe a buncha ya-ya gals, heh heh!

I only got a tiny corner of a room at the moment ta have my stuff - maybe in a coupla years we'll be extending the house a little and the wife's promised me my own little "music room", where I can make noises and howl away without disturbin' too many folks'n'herself. Lookin' forward to that!

I'll take a look at yr new posted song tomorrow - it's gettin' late in these parts and time ta hit the sack!

Cheers fr now

The Scooter

A great set up Tom, and with a view to die for. Must certainly help in the creativity department. The monitor arrangement looks pretty nifty also.

I have the same lack of room issue as Scooter, so constantly battling against the volume of the TV! Headphones only for me unfortunately.

Just enjoyed listening to 'Everybody But You'. Fantastic arrangement by the way. Top notch stuff! A lot of work went into this and it really shows.

It's a shame the Vocals section of this site doesn't get more visits, as more members should hear your tunes.

All the best,

Paul

Thanks guys. Thankfully I have a wife who is a working musician...LOL
She likes playing at piano bars and Dinner cruises as a one woman act using piano guitar and backing tracks I create for her on the Tyros.

. I prefer the home front and don't perform much anymore. I am a "studio rat" mostly, So we both use the room. She has a smaller laptop set up on another wall. The setup I use is too complicated for her.

Yep!

Hot dog! - sounds like ya got the all-time perfect setup, there!

Yr own studio/music room and yr wife plays, too.
An' even better - she's away from home now & then, so ya can work undisturbed. That's a good enough reason fr me ta get jealous (only kiddin'!).

Man, that'd be a real nice setup fr me! (come ta think of it, I might just miss the wife, though - and her cookin'!).

Anyways, it's worse for Nozz - he got the friggin' tv ta compete with!

Gonna take a peek at yr studio pic once in a while - like when I need ta relax my chicken brain for a few minutes...

Thanx fr the pic - get back ta ya later..

Hi Again!

Had a chance ta listen to ya Lake song!

Hey, that's real good! Sorta Niel Diamond-ish if I may say so - well, dang - I just did, didn't I!

Love the sax instrumental towards the end. Tell me, did ya play all instrument tracks yrself - and are they taken from keyboards (or are they "real" instruments - it's kinda hard to tell, nowadays).

Like ya said, it prob'ly ain't a commercial song - but it's still very well done. I sure as hell'd be happy with it, if it came from my "studio" corner!

Good on ya fr posting this song - my ears enjoyed themselves with this one!

Thanx - and yep! I took another peek at yr studio, my oh my!

Everything is synth...even the Sax. (courtesy of since sold Roland U220)The Tyros offers something I never had before.....GUITARS!!! Love using the multipads as a starting point to write from a guitar standpoint......One thing about writing from that angle is the built in rhythm a guitar provided with the chords.

Thanks Leo...Hard to find my own voice especially when it led to a career impersonating the guy....Now that Im done with that its even harder to find my own voice. I guess its one of those things. It got me into a fun career but never allowed me to break free and have my own. At least I can enjoy writing and much of it has its own voice. Everybody But You was written with Neil in mind..from the standpoint of his career so naturally that would be a song that would sound like something he wrote.
