Default Tyros 2 - 11-02-2010, 08:43 PM

I am trying to figure out how to use the Song button on the Tyros 2. I can save my songs under Multifinder and the style buttons, but can't find a way to save them under Song. Please shine some light!

Hi
After you record your midi press Button A , this will take you to another screen, tab to USER/HDD/USB1/USB2 (whichever one you want to save the song to) and press SAVE. This will save it as New Song but you can change the name before you save it
Hope this helps
Spike

Oh so the trick is the song button only applys to recording?? I have just been arranging the styles and then play each song along with the people that are singing. That way would be an actual recording and I wouldn't be playing while they are singing if I used the song button, is that the way it works?? Kina like a Karoke sing-a-long?? Thanks

I'm not sure if you are mixing things up here.
You can play to a style and people can sing to it - you don't have to save anything to do this.
If you want people to sing to a song that you have recorded then you must save the song as I described. When you playback the song then people can sing to it. So NO you wouldn't be playing the keyboard while people are singing.

Thanks Spike, that help solve the problem. I have been saving the song styles into the registration, however there are only 8 buttons and 10 fields to enter songs into. Plus if you enter another, it will pop into another slot if the name is spelled before the one you have plugged into. Say you have a style in the 1,2,3 buttons and you enter another which would be 4 but if its spelling is before the 1,2, or 3 it will go alphabetically where it belongs. Leaving your buttons playing the wrong songs when you punch them. Do you understand what I mean?? Its been a nightmare. So I switched to the multifinder which loads them into the system in alpha order, but it also picks the styles on the right hand for you and I can't seem to make it save the one I want without having to manually change it each time I pull up the song. Maybe I don't know how to do that correctly either, but if you know please advise. Thanks, you are very knowledgeable. Stay

This is a common problem, I can only suggest you put letters at the start of your song titles which will list them in the order that you wish to play them. The listing will be numerical first then alphabetical so if you put say 1001 before the first title name, 1002 before the 2nd title name etc it doesn't matter what the title is you will get them in that order...1001,1002, etc If you want to leave room to insert other songs in between then number them 1010,1020 etc then you can insert 1011,1012,1021,1022 in between.
Hope this solves your problem

Thanks, at least I'm not going crazy What about the multifinder, if you only want a certain sound, like piano, and those 4 buttons don't have it on there, you can push piano, but when it saves it, it reverts back to default. Any way to cure that??

I presume that by multifinder you mean multipad. If that's the case then press button E, this will take you to the multipads, select your multipad (audition it by pressing one of the multipad buttons) when you have what you want press [MEMORY] and then the OTS button to which you want that multipad assigned (this will also assign the voices selected at the time so be careful) then follow the on-screen instructions. So if you want a multipad assigned to OTS 1 make sure that is selected before you assign the pad.
Cheers
Spike
