Default 2nd Manual. - 28-07-2010, 07:51 PM

Hello!

So I have bought a second keyboard to add to the T3. I have one question.

All connected and working good, but how do you assign a split to the lower keyboard so that the left hand side is just backing (no left hand voice) and then the right hand side of the lower keyboard is the LEFT voice?

Is this do'able or am i asking to much of this keyboard?

Just messing about.

Leigh

Hi Spike

I have bought a M-Audio 61ES. Great midi keyboard and powered direct from the T3. Turns out what i really need to do what I want is a midi controller that allows keyboard split. This way you can do exactly what I want to do:

Use Tyros 3 as upper manual with voice 1, 2 on the right
Lower keyboard to have lower voice and backing trigger to left hand side, right hand side to give you right 3 voice.
This way you get a real organ setup. NP30 does not allow this I am told by Yamaha, but there is a 88 key M-audio keyboard or an AKAI midi controller that will do this, but prices start at £500.00.

So, all sorted!

Hi Leigh
That's what I had in mind when I asked you - if the lower keyboard can be split you could assign below that split to backing via midi and above to the LH again via midi, or as you suggest R3. I'll be interested to hear how the midi is routed after you've sorted it all out. Good luck with it
Cheers
Spike
