Question about yamaha online style packs -

I'm interesting in purchasing a few of the yamaha online style packs. But I don't quite understand the copy protection features on them. I cannot copy them to my computer hard drive in case of an accident?
Has anyone purchased them? Is there any possbility of losing them, or accidently erasing them, etc. so that you are out some $$$.
